Professor Chung Chae-kwan
Chung Chae-kwan, a professor of English literature at Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae), has been reappointed as the 10th president of the Korean Association of Secondary English Education. Chung's term will run for two years until February 2027.
Since its establishment in 2007, the Korean Association of Secondary English Education has been the largest academic organization in the field of secondary English education in Korea, involving more than 500 experts, including English-related professors, teachers, preservice teachers, instructors, and researchers, and holds academic workshops, seminars, and conferences every year to share trends in English education at home and abroad and to promote academic information exchange.
Professor Chung Chae-kwan has gained extensive experience and expertise in English education after obtaining a doctorate in applied linguistics and English education from Warwick University in the UK. He has been a senior researcher at Seoul National University's Teaching and Learning Development Center, an associate researcher at the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation's Curriculum and Evaluation's Education Headquarters, and vice president of the Korea Elementary English Education Association. Currently, he is a professor of English literature at Incheon National University and a professor of global creative gifted education.
Chairman Chung Chae-kwan said, "With the introduction of the 2022 revised English department curriculum and English AI digital textbooks from March 2025, we will actively support strengthening teacher competency to minimize confusion in the school field."
